1. What you were looking for in a new platform?
We needed to replace our operating system due to the retirement of the previous vendor. We wanted a fully-functional back office with document repository facilities, but with an underwriting front-end that we didn’t have before so we could offer self-service quote and buy facilities to our brokers.
We reviewed the market, speaking to numerous peers and former colleagues before landing on a shortlist of four suppliers, each of whom provided the functionality we required.
2. What made you choose Total Systems and bluescape?
Each of the four systems had its pluses and minuses but bluescape was slightly smoother and, we thought, more adaptable for our needs as they were anticipated to change.
More so, we liked the people and the way they were prepared to demonstrate specific bespoke elements to us as part of the sales process, rather than relying on screen shots and ‘test systems’.
3. What has the experience been like?
Total has provided a first class team from top to bottom who have helped us to deliver many of our requirements more effectively and quickly. Initially, bluescape was no slouch but they have helped us to comply with the ever-changing field of regulatory and reporting requirements while still delivering the lovely smooth user journey that attracted us in the first place.
