Company History

Total Systems is a London-based software and services company that provides software solutions for the financial services market. We primarily cater for the insurance and warranty sectors providing our customers with cost effective, flexible solutions together with support and expertise.

Established for over 30 years Total Systems plc remains under the leadership of its founding Director Terry Bourne, together with the other members of the Board. The company became fully listed on the London Stock Exchange in 1995.

In the 1980's the company developed the first generation of Ultima - a character based policy administration system which covered virtually all lines of general insurance. As a result we have a wealth of experience in terms of both product development and deployment to meet the changing needs of our customers.

Total Systems recognised that the next generation of software solutions needed to support the web environment for customers, brokers, affinity groups and trading partners. The company also identified the threat of low cost off-shore software vendors who could provide programming resource at prices well below that of the UK. A key design criteria was, therefore, that new systems would need minimal or no programming effort to deliver and for customers to maintain. These objectives have been met with the new 'Business Configurator' component which can be used by our customers to react to the ever changing demands of their business. A key benefit of Business Configurator is that organisations can take responsibility for making changes rapidly - for example changing existing products or introducing new ones.

Total Systems is committed to supporting the General Insurance market and have recently embarked on an extensive period of development as far as our products and services are concerned, developing a new generation of solutions enabling the Insurance industry to move forward more profitable and efficiently.
